Betrayal It was a little past mid-day. The sun still burned bright in the sky over the open dirt plain. Silence flew over the mountain ranges and through the tree branches of the wood. There was a stillness about the place, an unsealing calmness that slowly gnawed away at confidence. Far off a babbling stream was the only sound for miles. This place was bewitching. A million thoughts raced through Unn's mind. She'd been part of the Queen's Legion since the age of six. She'd been educated in the strategies of war, combat training, and to live by her instincts, but above all else loyalty was ingrained in her. Her actions of this day had ultimately caused her to turn her back on that virtue. Or maybe she'd found something more important to be loyal to. She needed a plan, no matter how foolish.
